DIY Home Decor

SRM Stickers has just released new spring colors of vinyl that are great for cutting with electronic machines but sometimes you just need a nice background and need a simple cut.  They work great for that too!  Today I am going to share with you a piece that I made for our newly redecorated master bedroom.

When I saw this blue vinyl I knew it would be perfect to use in our Master Bedroom.  I picked up this undecorated frame at a big box store.  I measured and cut out a piece of the vinyl to fit in the center and then decorated it from there with more SRM goodies!

I wanted a soft romantic touch to the frame but still with a modern feel.  Enter burlap, lace, and vellum - perfect for creating that look!  The frame came with six clips to hang things from and although I could have removed some, I liked the look of six.  I knew I wanted to do two pictures so that left four open.  I attached the circle sticker from the Fancy Sentiments/Thinking of You set to white cardstock and cut that out to fill one clip.  I also added a small circle from the Fancy Sentiments/Love set to a tag for another clip.

Then came the last two clips which happen to be my favorite!  First I used 4" lace and ran it through a manual die cut machine to cut it into a heart.  I then added a smaller burlap heart on top of the lace.  I used titles from the We've Got Your Sticker Happy and We've Got Your Sticker Forever on top of vellum to add some big words to the frame.

Simple, pretty, and with a personal touch! And if you are looking for even more ideas on creating home decor you should check out this article: "Home DIY Projects Without Tools: Use Glue not a Screw"

Bible Journaling on 2 Thessalonians 3:16 with SRM Stickers

Have you had a chance to try out the SRM Stickers Bible Journaling stamps yet? They are so handy for this art and create a beautiful clear image!  Today I have a Bible Journaling piece on 2 Thessalonians 3:16 to share.
I don't do my journaling straight into my Bible - I prefer to do it on a sturdy piece of cardstock and slide it inside my Bible at that location.  For this one I did a watercolored background!

I used both the Words of Faith Stamp set and the Big Faith stamp set on this piece.  Life has definitely presented some challenges to me lately - so you will notice I'm giving myself a bit of a pep talk on trusting the Lord!

I created the actual verse on the project using a combination of letter stickers (outlined with my Black Le Pen!) and stamping.  Then I stamped onto White Medium Punched Pieces and added my journaling onto those.  They were the perfect size for working on this!

Link me up to your Bible Journaling pages - I'd love to be inspired and enoucouraged by them!

March Planner Pages

March is an awesome month for planner addicts this year because you get to cover both St. Patrick's Day, Spring,  and Easter.  Makes it super fun to customize the planner that way!  Today I am joining you  to share a St. Patrick's themed spread and a Spring themed spread both incorporating a whole bunch of SRM Stickers supplies.

I'm not Irish at all, but I sure do love all the cute St. Patrick's Day supplies out there! I incorporated a sticker from the Express Yourself/St. Patrick's Day set.

I also used lots of planner stamps on here!  I loved using the Clear Stamp/Planner Banner set for creating my lines on the individual spaces.  Super handy!

The Clear Stamp/Planner Notes to Self were perfect headliners for my grid spaces.

Don't those colors just make you feel warm!?! I've only done fall and winter spreads in my planner so this was a breath of fresh air!

I used  Calendar Months/Large Snappy to add my "March" in the column.  I also again used the stamp set to make my lines - but this time I used the one with the flowers instead of the hearts.

I used the Little Borders/Summer to separate the rows of my planner - the yellow ones screamed sunshine!  And of course the perfect final touch was Black Sticker Stitches.

The other main product that I used was patterned papers and some icon stickers from Doodlebug Design. They worked just beautifully in combination with the SRM Stickers supplies!

Easter Layout Supplies:

These pics are of my middle son who's now 5!  I never have had quite the right plan for scrapping them but they came together perfectly for this layout! I opted to make it about two different years - his first Easter and his second one.

I used this exact same 3D title for a layout last year - I just love it!  Glitter, 3D, a cute little bunny - you can't go wrong!

I also incorporated a set of 3D Easter Egg Hunt Stickers and 2" Easter Egg stickers throughout.  I linked the whole layout together by creating a stitched circle!

Paper House is doing a gift certificate giveaway in conjunction with the hop!

Easter Layout and Easter Cards using Bunnyville from Doodlebug Design

Bunnyville from Doodlebug Design brings together so many fun elements of Easter - the bunnies, the chicks, eggs - it just screams spring!  I made an Easter layout and some Easter cards too!  I was having too much fun playing, I just couldn't stop!  First up is a layout!
There are so many fun patterns and embellishments in this collection - I just knew I had to go bold and play them up!

The Jellybean patterned paper had to be included - it's too cute!  I added it up top and built a little sunshine scene up there - including of course sprinkles for the sun's cheeks.

We're coloring eggs in the picture so of course we had to work in some of the pieces from the Bunny & Friends Craft Kit from the collection.  For this part I went with bunnies and eggs and then added some cardstock stickers and jellybean sprinkles too!

For the bottom of the layout I worked in some carrots - because there were too many adorable ones not to include them!  I used some from Bunny & Friends Craft Kit as well as pieces of Doodle-pops.  And there's those Jellybean Sprinkles again - so fun!

I also decided to keep the fun going and create a set of Easter cards with the collection.

I used the patterned paper that has 4 X 4 squares to cut out of different phrases and scenes for each of my cards.  There are 9 cards on the 12 X 12 patterned paper so if you wanted to you could create 9 cards from this sheet!  They work really well for a 5 inch square or 5.5 inch square card.  Mine are all 5.5 inch squares. This one is backed with some of the striking washi tape.  To add some dimension to the scene I added some carrot and chick Shape Sprinkles.

This one just has a few special additions to the 4 x 4 square.  I used a pixie to make the Happy Easter marquee into a sign and tucked that behind a couple of popped up eggs.  I also added a tree sticker to the background and cut out a part of the little chick's head to make it overlap.

This cute little bunny in this square definitely needed some carrot Shape Sprinkles in his hands.  The Doodle-pop chicks came along for the fun!

This was actually the first square I was inspired to work with - it just had the egg grid on it and I knew there was some fun possibilities there!  I added the word "HOP" first and then used some Shape Sprinkles to fill in the rest.  The Shape Sprinkles in this collection are just perfect additions for your cards!

Creative Kit Layouts for My Creative Scrapbook & Giveaway Winner

First up congrats to Yvette Weber for being the winner of my SRM Stickers Gift Certificate!  Yvette send me an email at practicalscrappers@gmail.com and I will get that off to you!

Now on to the new projects!
The Creative Kit from My Creative Scrapbook this month is just gorgeous.  It's packed with spring products from Pebbles Inc and has a mix of pastels and brights.  I used it for a variety of topics as you are about to see!

Who'd have thought black would looks so fabulous with these spring colors and flowers!?!  Love the combination and how strikingly different it is from others out there.  And it was perfect for documenting the picture of my daughter and her grandparents.

And of course there has to be an Easter layout in the mix right!?!  This is our family pictures from last Easter.  It's always a chaotic day of ministry and I often don't get great pictures - but these ones are pretty good!  Love the flower ephemera pieces that came in this kit!

Last up was a birthday layout.  The kit has ephemera that is both non-themed and themed so you can use it for topics like birthdays and weddings.  I decided to work the giraffes into my text circle and add to the whimsy of the whole layout.

If you haven't had a chance to snag this kit, you definitely will want to check it out before it's gone!

Imagination Layout

I snuck in some time this week to create a layout about something my three year old is doing a lot of right now and that is showing his imagination.

Every single day, all day long he says:
"Let's Play (fill in the blank...Mariokart, Sonic, Baby Jesus, Paw Patrol)"
"I will be (a character from one of those things)"
"Who do you want to be?"
And then once I give him an answer he runs off and plays something.
It's pretty adorable and was definitely needing a page of it's own!
I pulled out my Sapphire ColorWays from Paper House Productions because i Knew it would be perfect with these pictures.  I used a circle punch and punched out a whole bunch of different patterns and then created a giant pile of them at the bottom of the layout.  I was inspired by this layout. Generally when I see an inspiring layout/project I let myself have one look and then go from there.  That way it becomes my own interpretation and doesn't copy them exactly.I completely love how this turned out and the going crazy with my circle punch is going to be a trend I will definitely revisit soon!

Supplies Used:
Patterened Paper: All from Paper House except the base Swiss Dots is from Doodlebug

Stickers: Paper House
Rub-on: Paper House
Brads: My Mind's Eye

My Creative Scrapbook March Sneak Peeks

It's time to share the March Sneak Peeks of the upcoming kits from My Creative Scrapbook!  I am sharing the ones I worked with - check out the entire set over at their blog!

Our March Main kit sneak peeks:

And Here's close ups of my sneaks from this kit:
As you can see it's packed with warm spring colors - cool embellishments - and glitter!

Our March Creative kit sneak peeks:

And here's my sneaks for you!
AND as a bonus I get to share one layout!  Here's one of my Creative Kit Layouts!
Lots of little details went into this layout!  I used a craft knife to cut up scallops on the heart and make them look like ruffles.   I also added hand stitching and lots of layers!  I did a lot of single picture layouts this month - that's unusual for me - but that's just how it worked out!  This one is a picture of my little girl swinging away a couple years ago.  I have been waiting for just the right layout to use it on and I think all the Pebbles Inc supplies in it worked out perfectly!
