Top Ten Blog Hop 2016 & Giveaway

Welcome to the Top Ten Blog Hop for 2016.

Each year I join together with a group of crafty friends and we do a review of our favorite projects from the year!

Here's the list for this year:
Juliana Michaels  ***Head Here Next***
This year I have picked out 10 layouts - I decided to just stick with layouts and not do cards, planners, Bible Journaling, off the page, etc...otherwise it gets impossible to narrow down!
Here's my favorites from the year.

I made this one early in the year using a variety of elements from patterned paper to washi tape and much more.

Fringe was everywhere in crafting this year and I took it up on this layout to create a unique background!

This is a recent layout where I did some major hand stitching on it!  This one has a video with it too!

I loved the Flea Market Collection from Doodlebug Design!  This layout features it.

When you get a new puppy, you get a whole new scrapbooking subject - oh the fun!  This layout has a video for it.

A great picture of a Tween boy absolutely deserves a great layout!  Here's the video for this one.

Like I was saying about the puppy!  Love her and love scrapping about her!

I do love to fussy cut and this layout shows that - ALL but a few of those arrows were fussy cut from one patterned paper.

This layout has so much to it!  Scallops in the waves to add texture, fun colorful banner pieces, lots of unique elements!

You can't go wrong with rainbows - combine it with a cute little boy and great quote and you've got a win!

To thank you for joining along in the blog hop I am doing a giveaway both here and on my YouTube Channel.  The Giveaway here is for a $15 gift certificate to Scrapbook.com!

Making Your Gift Wrap Fun!

Whether it's for Christmas, Birthdays, or another special occasion; pretty gift wrap is always a treat.  Have you considered digging into your crafting supplies to tackle your wrapping? I am joining you today with a simple idea for adding something special to your gift wrapping.

This was easy to make with the help of the Puppy Love Cut Files available from the Silhouette Store and Lori Whitlock.  The cut file I used was called: Orange Dog Puppy Love.  I used several additional supplies in addition to the cut file - I punched snowflakes from the Swiss Dots Petite Prints and also tore the sheet to make a little snowy hill.  I added sequins and jewels from Doodlebug to mimic snow.  Fancy Frills was my last non-cutfile touch using it as a border piece up top! Now let's get back to the cutfile!

Because this puppy had a shape that reminded of the the little Scotty dog from Lady and the Tramp, I decided I'd got that direction with him and run with the winter theme.  I cut him in Petite Prints to get the coloring just right.

I also traced his body and created a little sweater for him.   I thought that added to his festive feel! For a finishing touch I added a little red bow to his tail and then added a Chunky Brad for his tag.

Once I had cut out all the pieces I only needed about 10 minutes to assemble this bag.  Quick, easy, and sure to make the receiver smile!

I Smell Snow - A Gilmore Girls inspired Scrapbook Layout!

Hi there crafty friends! Winter is upon us and I for one am thrilled!  I am up today at Doodlebug with the challenge to create a project based on a meme I decided to incorporate two of my loves: snow and Gilmore Girls!  I dug into my Polar Pals stash and created this Winter layout.

It was based on this Meme - using both the quote, the snow theme, and Lavender scarf as inspiration!

You can't go wrong with snowflakes and I played with a variety of them on this layout.  I used a variety of sizes and colors so none overwhelm the other.

I love this quote and thought the Shin Dig Sugar Coated letter stickers were perfect for it!

Rather than add more sprinkles to the layout I decided to go with sequins for some extra sparkle.  I thought that lended itself well to the sparkly effect of snow.

Quick Tip Tuesday: Combining Cut Files & Stitching on your Scrapbook Layouts

It's time for another installment of Quick Tip Tuesday! This week I am using the Creative Kit from My Creative Scrapbook to showcase how to combine a cut file and stitching and create a unique background!  I have always loved hand stitching on my projects but have been especially inspired lately by all the stitching I am seeing from others on layouts! Here's the layout I created:

I used the exclusive cut files that came with the kit to create my stitching.  It was definitely a time commitment but I am thrilled with how it turned out!  My video shows you the basics on how I did it!

You can check out the kit at My Creative Scrapbook - it is one of the most gorgeous ones I have ever worked with!  The rest of the products I used for this layout can be found by clicking on the thumbnails below!
